I Think I’m Living with a Superhero – Part 1

I’ve got a secret to tell you. I think I’m living with a superhero.

Well I’m sure of it. I mean he doesn’t act like it during the day but all the signs are there…

But let me start at the beginning. MiniBob, who is he?

MiniBob is my personal Minifigure. When I met him, he had somehow survived a battle with some Storm TroopersCaptain America and Bruce Lee. And let me tell you, those Minifigs are some tough guys. And don’t even ask how a Storm Trooper, Captain America and Bruce Lee would even be in the same place at the same time, because that’s really for another day.

He was injured and missing an arm and a leg and I put him back together. And ever since, he hasn’t got the heck out of my life. Now ordinarily most people would love having a Minifigure as cool as MiniBob, I’m sure they would, but MiniBob is sneaky.

So why do I think he’s a superhero?

Well, for one, all the other Minifigures around seem to know something I don’t. They’re all very nice to him all the time, they’re always coming round to hang out…

Just the other day John Brick was over for breakfast, he had Ghost Soldier mowing the lawn, the Awesome Place characters just chilling in front of the TV and Elton John was playing the piano. I mean that’s some serious pull right there…

Anyway, the other day, I get home from work and as usual his room is a mess. And as usual, I started tidying up all his stuff. And as I moved the 4th of July Surfboard out the way, as I moved his collection of tools,  I came across a maska cape and a heck of a lot of weapons. Guns, swords, etc, you name it…

Initially I was stunned. Why did he need  sooooo much? I mean I knew he needed some bits. You can’t exactly be hanging out with the likes of Scarface and The Grim Reaper and not be packing – I get that!! But was so much necessary?…

Then I sat back and started to piece it all together – and try to make some sense of it all:

  • All the Minifigures were coming round, all the time. Even the toughest of them were coming to pay their respects
  • I found weapons, I found masks, I found capes
  • He was out a lot at night

I didn’t want to ask him. That was just going to lead to an uncomfortable situation, so the only thing that made sense was to follow him out one night.

Of course if I did it, I knew he’d spot me a mile away. I went through my phone book frantically looking to enlist the help of a fellow Minifigure. Someone who’d blend in to MiniBob’s world and be able to follow him…

Agent Sculder and Agent Mully were more than happy to do me that favour.

A few nights later, MiniBob said he was heading out to see some friends. I knew my agents were on the case, but what I didn’t expect was when they called me at 3 am to tell me their findings…

To be continued…
